Introducing the Squad Developer Q&A

posted on October 13, 2021

Hey Squaddies!

As part of our ongoing efforts to foster better communication between the Squad development team and its players, we are creating a regular ongoing Question and Answer event on the Join Squad forums. Here members of the development team will answer community submitted questions.

Anyone who has registered as a member of the Join Squad forums will be able to ask a question in the Q&A thread that we’ve created at

The schedule of the Squad Q&A is:

  • Wednesday  October 13th, 2021 – The Q&A thread opens for question submissions
  • Monday October 18th, 2021 – Close questions submissions
  • Tuesday October 26th, 2021 – Share answers to questions from the Squad development team

We realize our players have a lot of questions about the ongoing development of Squad, so we anticipate the first round will yield more questions than we are currently able to answer. In order to ensure the rest of the development team’s focus remains on developing Squad, we will be answering no more than fifteen (15) of the community submitted questions in this first round! As with any Q&A session, we anticipate there will be some questions we aren’t able to answer – either due to unknown factors or it simply not being a topic we can address.

We ask that all questions are kept constructive and polite, and that players keep in mind that the rest of the development team is taking time away from their work to answer these questions. We’re excited to provide further insight into what they’re working on, development challenges we’ve faced, and what the future holds for Squad. Any questions that are rude in nature, have already been answered or we deem not to be asked in good faith will be deleted.

As the development team’s focus remains on developing Squad we will not be able to tackle all of the submitted questions. There are also some topics we will not be addressing, or be unable to tackle in this Q&A. Also please keep your questions constructive and polite, and remember that the development team is taking time away from their jobs to give our players insight into what they’re working on, and what’s coming in Squad’s future.

This Q&A is a trial, and if successful the first of many. We may also adjust the process based on your feedback, so let us know how you’d like to see it improved.

Thank you for your continued support of Squad and Offworld Industries.
